86th Oscars Trailer Released!

The Academy have finally signaled the countdown to the Oscar telecast with a stunning new trailer featuring show host Ellen DeGeneres. The video, directed by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) features 250 dancers performing along to The Walker by Fitz and the Tantrums.

“I had the best time making this,” said DeGeneres.  “I love Paul, I love tWitch, I love Fitz and I like most of the Tantrums.”

“To work with Ellen, tWitch Boss, Allison Holker and 250 amazing dancers to the music of Fitz and The Tantrums to promote the Oscars for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences was an absolute dream come true,” said Feig.  “Just typing that sentence made me giddy and exhausted. I’m going to lie down now.”

Watch it. It will definitely get you feeling good on a Saturday morning. Or any time of day come to that. The 86th Academy Awards will be broadcast live in over 200 countries on Sunday March 2nd 2014, and the trailer is due to be screened in US theatres from January 3rd.
