Brace Yourself – There Will Be 5(!) Fantastic Beasts Movies
Last night J.K Rowling announced on Twitter that there will be 5 Fantastic Beasts movies, and the news was met with, well, a mixed response. There is a certain level of, arrogance perhaps, overconfidence definitely, in announcing this before the first film is even in cinemas.
Judging from the trailers and general reaction, there’s little doubt Fantastic Beats will be a huge hit for WB but we have already seen them stretch a franchise to absolute breaking point with the Hobbit Trilogy, which may have been a money making extravaganza but we can’t pretend that story wouldn’t have been served better as two films, or even just one.

The plus side is that we are going to be spending a lot more time in the amazing world Rowling constructed, and every time I hear the harry Potter theme I still get tingles, so there is a chance it might work out. In a world where we are on our 5th Transformers, it might not be the worst thing to have more Fantastic Beasts.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released in November, expect sequels every 2-3 years.
