New Membership Scheme ‘The Cinema Club’ Launched
The Cinema Club, a version of a very successful Danish scheme designed to encourage people to go to the cinema more, is now available in the UK. Membership is costed at £14.95 per season though there is an early bird discounted price of £12.95 if you join before 30th November.

If you love seeing fantastic films in the cinema then this is the club for you. Every year a team of dedicated cinema lovers will be selecting 10 of the best films set to hit the big screen in the coming months and members of the scheme will be able to see these films half price at their local cinema.
Members can access The Cinema Club scheme in over 70 UK cinemas that cover the country from Thurso, Scotland to Newquay, Cornwall. The full list of participating cinemas can be found HERE.
The first film in the scheme is The Choral, an Alan Bennett and Nicholas Hytner film released on 7th November. The film is set in 1916 and centres on The Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire and how Ralph Fiennes, as the new choirmaster, helps the community discover that the best response to the chaos of World War 1 is to make music together.

The Choral will be followed by Giant, about the relationship between iconic boxer Prince Naseem Hamed and his trainer Brendan Ingles on 9th January; H is for Hawk, an anticipated film version of the award-winning book by Helen Mcdonald, on 23rd January and Mother’s Pride, a feel good film from the people behind Fishermans’ Friends, starring Martin Clunes on 27th February. The next six films are set to be finalised shortly.

Julia Brown, The Cinema Club, says:
“We think the public will love The Cinema Club. We want to surprise and delight members with quality films – some that they’ll be looking forward to and some that they never knew they wanted to see.
There are some great films in cinemas that sometimes don’t get the attention they deserve and this scheme will make sure that the films in it are firmly on people’s radars.
The overall aim is to promote cinema-going and keep our much-loved local cinemas alive and kicking in towns and cities where they are an important part of the community.”
