Avatar 4 to be a prequel?

Filming for Avatar 2 and 3 is expected to begin later this year but now comes word a fourth instalment (a prequel) could be on the table.

Talking to MTV, Cameron said “I have an idea for a fourth. I haven’t really put pen to paper on it, but basically it goes back to early expeditions of Pandora, and kind of what went wrong with the humans and the Na’vi and what that was like to be an explorer and living in that world.”

“We’ll start, not imitating Star Wars, but it’s a logical thing to do because we’ll have completed the thematic arc by the end of three.”

As expected, Cameron is taking his time with the highly anticipated sequels. The first Avatar film grossed $2.7 billion at the box-office and is the highest-grossing film of all time.
