Farrell/Kidman Feature in ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ Clip
Putting a wonderfully absurd spin on the romance genre with his previous film The Lobster, toying with the idea of stranded singletons turning into their spirit animal, if they couldn’t find a partner.
The latest effort from director Yorgos Lanthimos ‘The Killing Of A Sacred Deer’ doesn’t look set to dial down the peculiar nature of its narrative structure, already generating quite the buzz at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, taking home the Best Screenplay prize.
In this first clip from the film, we see its stars Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell whom also star together in Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled this Summer, discuss their connection with a ‘charming’ boy which we believe is Barry Keoghan’s (Trespass Against Us) character Martin.
A past patient of Farrell’s top surgeon, the discussion of tragic car crashes, the exquisite composition of its many mirrors and its ominous music only heighten the ambiguity.
Backed by Film4 and Artificial Eye, we await word on a definitive UK release date for the film. Judging this initial look, let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later.
