Hathaway Officially Joins Spielberg’s Latest!
It wasn’t so long ago that we brought you a taster of what to expect from Steven Spielberg’s next project, after his eagerly anticipated Lincoln biopic with Daniel Day Lewis. The project in question is called ‘Robocalypse’, a big screen adaptation of a science fiction novel written by Daniel H.Wilson.
With Spielberg already securing the services of the comicbook fanboy’s beloved Thor AKA Chris Hemsworth and James Bond’s new Q (Ben Whishaw) for the film, there has been much attention on who will lead on the female front. We can confirm after initially being rumoured for the role, it will be none other than The Dark Knight Rises’ Catwoman AKA Anne Hathaway.
Clearly not able to remove herself from her new blockbuster level surroundings (Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables on the way), Hathaway has expressed her delight at collaborating with Spielberg. She stated (via Empire):
‘Whenever i’m taking time off, i always joke to my team that i’m on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And i was on vacation and Spielberg called. So i was like, ‘OK, put my money where my mouth is.'”
Taking into account his producing duties in the past on the Transformers franchise and his general track record.. we sense expectations will be at a premium for this one!
The production of ‘Robocalpyse’ is set to begin early next year and the film is scripted by The Cabin In The Woods director Drew Goddard.
