Hoffman Lands ‘Hunger Games’ Role!
The rumour has been circulating for weeks, but today the deal was finally sealed. Highly regarded actor and Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman has been CONFIRMED to play an integral part in the sequel to ‘The Hunger Games’ (released earlier this year), ‘Catching Fire’.
With filming set to start in September, Lionsgate have certainly moved quickly to land their ‘first choice’. Hoffman who is no stranger to major Hollywood franchises (Mission Impossible 3) will undertake the role of Plutarch Heavensbee, whom will be familiar to fans of Suzanne’s Collins’ books as the head gamemaker of the 75th annual ‘Hunger Games’.
The project is certainly in full swing, with director Francis Lawrence (Constantine, Water For Elephants) already set to take over the reins from his predecessor Gary Ross and the major players from the first film Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) returning.
‘Catching Fire’ will land in cinemas in November 2013.
The Hunger games is soon to be released on DVD. LOVEFiLM offer a 30 day trial where you can watch movies online for free and you can also request and reserve DVD’s and games.
