Matthew Vaughn Reveals Future Plans For Kingsman And Kick-Ass
Already producing the forthcoming films ‘Rocketman’, the Elton John biopic and ‘I Am Pilgrim’, the James Gray adaptation of the Terry Hayes novel which are both in pre-production.
Director Matthew Vaughn doesn’t seem keen to rest on his laurels, with the news today that he’s also looking to expand two of his much-loved film series, through his production company Marv.
Speaking with Empire Magazine, he is already mapping out plans to wrap up the Harry Hart (Colin Firth) and Eggsy (Taron Egerton) relationship with ‘Kingsman 3’, whilst taking the spy franchise back to the early 1900’s with spin-off ‘Kingsman: The Great Game’.
It’s also good news for Channing Tatum’s Tequila, Jeff Bridges’ Champ and Halle Berry’s Ginger, the American agents that were introduced in last year’s sequel ‘The Golden Circle’, as they will be getting their own ‘Statesman’ film.
Shifting into comic book territory. It’s safe to imply Vaughn passing the directorial reins to Jeff Wadlow for 2013’s ‘Kick-Ass 2’, didn’t quite produce the same impressive result of its well-received predecessor.
He has now expressed his desire to reboot ‘Kick-Ass’ hinting the new incarnation could involve African-American single mother Patience Lee, who has now taken on the mantle from David Lizewski. He stated:
‘Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comic for clues’.
A solo outing for Hit-Girl, played by Chloe Grace Moretz in the previous films, is also being discussed.
