Shazam! Expected To Topple Dumbo At The UK Box Office This Weekend

Warner Bros.’ superheroic blockbuster Shazam! launches in cinemas today, and UK box office predictions (courtesy of Applaudience) are expecting the flick to dominate the weekend.

Shazam! has reportedly managed to pre-sell 53,000 tickets, totalling £580K in pre-sales, giving the feature a forecasted £3.4m this weekend – enough to knock Disney and Tim Burton’s live-action Dumbo off the top spot.

The projected UK top ten this weekend are expected to be as follows:

1 – Shazam! – £3,400,000
2 – Dumbo  – £3,200,000
3 – Pet Sematary – £1,400,000
4 – Captain Marvel – £935,000
5 – Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun – £885,000
6 – Missing Link – £840,000
7 – Us – £830,000
8 – Fisherman’s Friends – £370,000
9 – What Men Want – £185,000
10 – The Sister Brothers – £145,000

Shazam!, adapted from the DC Comics character, stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, and Mark Strong, and is rated 12A.
