Twilight’s Dawn Finale ‘Breaks’ Skyfall Resistance!
Considering it’s excited and sizeable fanbase, it was always inevitable that the much anticipated finale to the movie marmite that has been the Twilight Saga would perform well. Even more so, when no wide release dared to compete for audience’s affections this weekend in the US.
Emphatically destroying the reign of James Bond at the top of the heap with his 23rd outing Skyfall (Second with $41.5 million), Part 2 of Breaking Dawn claimed the coveted spot with an impressive $141.3 million taking.
The final installment of the R-Patz/Kristen Stewart/Taylor Lautner led juggernaut narrowly beat the opening account of Breaking Dawn Part 1 ($138.1 million), but will have to settle for second best after failing to overtake the franchise’s best entry ‘New Moon’ with $142.8 million.
