Winners: 2016 European Film Awards
Naturally the European Film Awards may not be the broadest predictor of Academy Awards, but it certainly indicates who some of the strongest foreign language contenders may be.
This year it looks as though Germany’s Toni Erdmann is establishing itself as one of the big international films this year. It picked up the big five in Best European Film, European Director, European Actor, European Actress and European Screenwriter.
My Life As A Zucchini should be one to watch though. It picked up European Animated Feature Film and is on the Academy’s longlist; could be an outside bet for a nomination.
