Winners: 2017 Eddie Awards

The American Cinema Editors have announced the winners of their annual Eddie Awards, giving Arrival a helpful boost in the Oscar race. The sci-fi movie picked up best edited dramatic feature, while La La Land won the consolation prize for best edited comedy.

Other winners on the night include Zootopia for animated film and O.J.:Made in America for feature documentary. The correlation between Eddie and Oscar is strong enough to notice, though in recent years its hit rate has slightly worsened. In other words, it’s not in the bag for Arrival just yet.
