Jack O’Connell/Lily Collins Join ‘The Cradle’
Her directorial debut ‘The Levelling’ last year starring Ellie Kendrick and David Troughton certainly impressed us at MM, proving to be a quietly devastating and remarkably restrained father/daughter tale.
Now Hope Dickson Leach is set to follow up such efforts with the big-screen adaptation of the 2009 Patrick Somerville novel ‘The Cradle’, with Protagonist Pictures set to launch the project to buyers at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Headlining the film will be Jack O’Connell who was recently involved in a new production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof in the West End, alongside Lily Collins with the actress starring in BBC’s six-part version of Les Miserables later this year. They will be playing a couple who are not quite ready for their first baby, as they look to track down a childhood cradle, only to make a discovery that changes their family forever.
Through her Twitter account. Leach stated she was:
‘Too excited for words – what smashing people i’ve managed to find myself making a movie with.’
Production is set to begin on the film this Summer.
