RDJ Captures Rights To ‘Black Mirror’ Ep!
Broadcast on Channel 4, Charlton Brooker’s truly unique anthology series ‘Black Mirror’ has been an unexpected hit with its ‘skewered’ portrayal of how culture and technology affects the modern world. One episode in particular, has caught the eye of Marvel’s ‘Iron Man’.
It has been confirmed that ol’Metalhead himself Robert Downey Jr. has bagged the rights to adapt an episode which starred Toby Kebbell (Rocknrolla). Titled ‘The Entire History of You’ and created by writer Jesse Armstrong (Peep Show), the premise involved ‘minute implant’ technology which Kebbell’s character abuses resulting in a thorough examination of his relationship with his wife, played by Jodie Whittaker.
It’s quite a coup for Downey Jr, who reportedly (Broadcast) had to fight off a host of high profile rivals, including Mr George Clooney to acquire the rights. The cinematic version is set to be produced by Warner Bros as well as Robert’s own ‘Team Downey’, with writer Armstrong retained as scriptwriter.
Whilst it remains uncertain whether Downey Jr will be involved in an on-screen capacity, we believe the material is certainly in capable hands. You can tune into the current run of ‘Black Mirror’ on Channel 4, on Mondays at 10pm!
