Second Teaser Trailer For Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master”
If you have seen any of Paul Thomas Anderson’s work, (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, Punch-Drunk Love, Hard Eight) then you know that he is one of the finest filmmakers around today. After winning widespread praise and awards for the phenomenal There Will Be Blood, Anderson has decided to follow up with The Master. The Master which follows a religious organization following World War II led by Philip Seymour Hoffman and his right hand man Joaquin Phoenix. There has already been one teaser trailer released but now we have a second one that finally gives us a look at Philip Seymour Hoffman’s character and his interaction with Phoenix. The few things that I can pick up from this trailer unlike the last trailer is that Hoffman looks like his is going to dominate it. Everything from his voice, to the way he holds himself, is so intriguing and mysterious that you can tell he will be the one to watch out for. Nevertheless, it is also great to see Phoenix in front of the camera again and doing so damn good at it. The cinematography is gorgeous, some of the best I have seen in years and the music, done by Jonny Greenwood, seems to be exactly what the film is looking for with a There Will Be Blood-esque feel to it. So look on and watch this second teaser, what are your thoughts?
