Winners: 2017 Writers Guild Awards
The Writers Guild of America have announced their winners, and though still a significant feather in the cap of any film, its sign of Academy Awards success is somewhat marginal.
The nature of the WGA awards is fickle, only recognising those who are part of the guild, which can at times exclude very worthy candidates. However, this year Moonlight award for original screenplay was against competition from Hell or High Water, Manchester by the Sea and La La Land so it’s safe to say this is a big win for the flailing contender.
