Plot Details Emerge For ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Sequel
Introducing us to Eddie Redmayne’s magizoologist Newt Scamander and company last year. For J.K Rowling and director David Yates, ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ ultimately proved a worthwhile return to the wondrous wizarding world originally realised through Harry Potter, conjuring up $814 million at the worldwide box office.
With principal photography confirmed to be underway on its currently untitled sequel, Warner Bros have wasted little time in teasing fans about the plot.
After the *SPOILER* grand reveal of Johnny Depp’s Gellert Grindewald in the finale of the first instalment, the villainous dark wizard is set to escape the clutches of MACUSA (The Magical Congress Of The United States Of America), prompting a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) to join forces with his former student in Newt.
In a quest that will see the action shift between New York, Paris and London in the year 1927, the follow-up will see the returns of Katherine Waterston’s Tina, Alison Sudol’s Queenie and Dan Fogler’s Jacob, alongside notable new addition Callum Turner who will play Newt’s brother Theseus.
Also joining the cast are Claudia Kim who stars in The Dark Tower later this Summer, Ingvar Sigurdsson (Everest), William Nadylam (Good Funk), Olafur Darri Olafsson (The BFG) and Sunshine On Leith actor Kevin Guthrie, whilst the character arcs of Ezra Miller’s Credence and Zoe Kravitz’s Leta Lestrange are set to be fleshed out further.
The film which is the latest in a five-part series, will be released on 16th November 2018.
